Freeze, make your own wreath, leave it in the rain, leave nothing!
WHEN THE MUSIC IS NO GOOD I CAN NO DANCE

site-specific sculptural installation, environmental dimensions
WHEN THE MUSIC IS NO GOOD I CAN NO DANCE is a minimal sculptural installation composed of three funeral wreaths made from hand-crafted paper flowers.
The work was produced during a residency at the Futura Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. Working in a studio exposed to rain and lacking production resources, the piece emerged directly from these conditions. Each wreath is constructed from paper flowers, some folded like origami, others freely shaped by hand. While water normally sustains living flowers, here the material reverses that relationship: humidity and rain gradually weaken and dissolve the paper forms. Placed directly on the floor, the wreaths evoke a fragile state between presence and disappearance. The installation reflects on the instability of artistic production and on the conditions under which works come into being. In this quiet reversal of natural logic, what should nurture growth instead becomes the force of erosion.
When the music is no good, I can no dance.
