Part I: GLOAMING
Gloaming was performed on the ground floor of Cabaret Voltaire with the participation of approximately fifteen women. For four hours they whispered a single sentence:
"I don't wanna die."
The sentence circulated continuously through the room, fragmenting and overlapping between voices. The whispering did not produce a clear statement but a dense acoustic surface, a fragile and unstable wall of sound.
The audience encountered this murmuring community as a living field of fear, where language dissolves into breath.
Part II: DAWN
Dawn was installed in the crypt of Cabaret Voltaire.
Two men occupied the space for several hours. Without ever exchanging roles, they repeatedly attempted to kill and defend themselves.
Before entering the space, the soles of their shoes were coated in wax mixed with pigment. The confrontation - its movements, its pressure, its unresolved trajectory - was transferred directly onto the PVC floor, producing a drawing that accumulated throughout the performance.
The drawing was not incidental. It was the planned outcome of an action that had no other resolution: a map of a struggle that went nowhere, left behind as a second work produced by the first.
STRUCTURE
The two parts occurred simultaneously on different levels of the same building.
Above, a collective voice whispered the fear of death. Below, two bodies enacted its physical possibility - and left its trace on the floor.
Between these two spaces - separated only by the architecture of the building - the work staged a vertical fracture: language and breath on one level, physical confrontation and its residue on the other.
