Vis Major – Bad Romance; Alejandro is the final chapter of the trilogy Vis Major. The work develops elements introduced in the previous pieces while bringing them to a spatial and conceptual conclusion.

The installation takes place in Šikuti, a small village in central Istria, inside a gallery housed in a former stable. During the initial site visit, the presence of a well at the entrance of the space became the central element of the work.

Even before entering the gallery, visitors hear a muffled sound emerging from the ground. The rock band Let 3 is hidden inside the well, performing their song Bosa Noga a cappella in a continuous loop.

At the entrance stands a sculpture composed of wax-coated flowers. The gesture recalls both funeral offerings and rural accumulations of organic matter.

Inside the space visitors encounter a disturbing olfactory environment: the organic smell of stagnant water produced by decomposing flowers contrasts with the intense artificial fragrance of 300 car air fresheners hanging from the ceiling.

At the centre of the installation stands a glass and ceramic commemorative sculpture dedicated to a deceased person whose body was never found.

The performance ends when the members of Let 3 emerge from the well after approximately forty-five minutes, the average duration of a funeral ceremony.
