POMeCA (Park of Modern & Contemporary Art) is a miniature theme park in which every attraction is a canonical work from the history of modern and contemporary art. Like a portable stadium stall selling popcorn, it floats in space and openly declares its intention: entertainment.

The perforated surface invites the viewer to enter. Like a guillotine, it threatens with its sharp edges.

After buying your ticket from Andy Warhol and leaving your luggage at the cloakroom managed by Peter Greenaway, you may begin. Joseph Beuys tends the park's greenery. Sol LeWitt's mathematical progressions form the base of the roller coaster. Vito Acconci masturbates beneath the artificial floor of the Tunnel of Love. Chris Burden welcomes you at the archery stand. Maurizio Cattelan pedals a power station to keep the lights on. Marcel Duchamp's Bicycle Wheel has become a Ferris wheel with a panoramic view over the entire park.

Gino De Dominicis finally captures the reflection of a square on water. Richard Serra's sculptures serve as skateboard ramps. Go-karts run on the engines from Matthew Barney's Cremaster 4. If you are hungry, Pietro Roccasalva serves arancini. Jeff Koons and Cicciolina host an eternal wedding banquet. Damien Hirst runs the pharmacy. Orlan operates in her hospital to live music: you may become part of the work. Marc Quinn's botanical garden blooms in silicone oil. Marina Abramović and Ulay welcome you at the House of Terror, naked, at the entrance.

POMeCA is not a critique of the art system. It is a description of the condition in which the system already operates: a space where entertainment has become the default mode of culture. Art included.
