I don’t want to love you, I don’t want to love you. Repeat! Dragana, repeat!

IN CIRCLE

video installation, 00:00:24, loop, environmental dimensions, video projector, DVD, color, sound, speakers, plaster panels, paint

PALESTRA is the project room of the museum, conceived as a showcase. The installation deliberately deprived the space of this condition by closing and completely obscuring the exhibition room. From the outside nothing was visible. Only a sound – exhausting.

Immediately after the entrance, an almost life-size projection appeared on a concave screen. Three men addressed the visitor directly, repeatedly declaring their love.

The video loop begins with a simple confession: I love you. Within thirty seconds the declarations intensify, the voices rising in volume and insistence. What begins as a tender statement gradually degenerates into confrontation. The three protagonists compete by shouting their love louder and louder, transforming affection into a struggle.

At the peak of this escalation another figure slowly appears: the artist herself. In a desperate gesture she screams, collapsing inward while covering her ears, as if trying to escape the unbearable noise produced by the declarations.
